No early wedding present at Dundalk for Lisa

Local woman Lisa Sheridan (Oristown, Navan) has just about three days to go until her wedding to trainer Joseph Murray (Trim) but that hasn't curtailed her enthusiasm for racing and she was in Dundalk tonight to watch Captain Cullen run in the 7.30 race at the Louth track.

There was no fairytale finish for the Captain on this occasion although with Pat Smullen on board it was a close run race with the duo just over two lenghts off the winner in the €24,000 one mile handicap that was won by Meath trainer Pat Martin (Reckless Lad).

However, it's not a case of concentrating on the wedding preparations next - Lisa will back at Dundalk on Friday night with another runner - Captain Midnight which won at the track last Friday night on a first outing for his new trainer after failing to win in 17 previous starts.

With the race due off at 8.35pm it will mean a hectic few hours afterwards for everyone to make it to the church in Oristown the next day for the wedding.

Also at Dundalk tonight there was a winner for Dunboyne jockey Padraig Beggy with Chatterton for trainer Paul Flynn.
