Ryan Dolan who represents Ireland in Saturday night's Eurovision Song Contest Final

Navan gets behind Dolan for Eurovision

Navan will be rooting for Ireland's Eurovision hopeful Ryan Dolan, who has strong connections with the town, when he takes to the stage in Malmo on Saturday night.

Ryan is mentored by Stuart O’Connor of Navan-based Spotlight Stage School, and managed by Navan man Conor Mulhall of Savee Entertainment, based in Ludlow Street.

He made it through the semi-finals earlier this week and will be the last act on stage in the 58th Eurovision Song Contest in Malmo on Saturday night.

Ryan composed his song 'Only Love Survives' with Wez Devine and will perform it in front of a television audience of approximately 125million.

He battled it out against four other finalists on the 'Late Late Show-Eurosong 2013' in February and topped the vote which was a combination of 50 per cent public tele-vote and 50 per cent regional jury vote.

A young singer-songwriter from Strabane, Ryan has played support to many acts over the years including Tinchy Stryder, Jedward and many more. He has been described as one of the most exciting homegrown musical talents to be discovered in Ireland in recent years.
