Carnaross emerge victors in north Meath showdown

Making light of the swirling wind and at times driving rain Carnaross secured a 0-10 to 0-5 victory over St Brigid's in the Tailteann Cup semi-final at Ballinacree today. 

Benny Reddy's side built on a 0-4 to 0-2 interval lead to record a deserved victory over their north Meath rivals. 

The gale-force wind blew across the pitch ensuring life was difficult for both sides but Carnaross had a sharper cutting edge to claim their place in the final. 

Paddy McDermott and Frank O'Reilly both registered three points apiece for Carnaross while Luke Gillic, Shane O'Reilly, Shane Casserly and Dylan Fox were others to fire over. 

St Brigid's led briefly early on when Stephen Browne scored the opening point of the game from a free but then Carnaross started to get the upper-hand.. 

Joe Blake and Cormac Browne went on to score two points apiece for the home side but it was the visitors who marched on to secure their ticket to the final.
