Death of Mick O'Brien, retired Dunshaughlin garda

The death has occurred of retired Dunshaughlin garda, Mick O'Brien, after a short illness.

The popular member of the Dunshaughlin community died peacefully this morning at the Bons Secours Hospital, Glasnevin.

A native of Askeaton, Co Limerick, he is survived by his wife Ona, family, Susan, Mickey, Paddy and Ellen, grandchildren, Colm, Sarah, Caitlín, Ruth, Michaela, Giorgia, Bobby and Lily, sisters Eileen and Deirdre, brothers John and Gerard and Kevin, son-in-law Ritchie, daughter-in-law Gioia, nephews, nieces, extended family, relatives and friends.

His remains are reposing at his Red Bog home (A85XC04) from 4pm until 8pm on Friday. Funeral Mass on Saturday at 12 o'clock in SS Patrick and Seachnaill's Church, Dunshaughlin followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu to the Irish Cancer Society. (House private Saturday morning).
