St Mary's Musical Society going Crazy For You!

Rehearsals underway for Crazy For You!

Following on from last year’s sell-out show Jesus Christ Superstar,  St Mary’s Musical Society Navan brings the award-winning show “Crazy For You” to the Solstice Arts Centre in Navan.

“Crazy For You” is Gershwin musical comedy tale of a boy and a girl or two and the love of dancing. With a host of funny characters, toe-tapping dance routines and songs you know and love including “Someone To Watch Over Me” and “I’ve Got Rhythm”, this show will bring the glitz and the giggles to Solstice Arts Centre here in Navan.

The cast features locals such as Craig Regan as Bobby Child, Meaghan Ebbs as Polly Baker, Ronan Walsh as Bela Zangler, Caitriona Mongey-Madden as Lottie Child, Des Lynch as Everett Baker and many more from within the society and Meath. They are supported by a full live 10-piece professional orchestra in the auditorium. Everyone will know the lively score of well-known
classic Gershwin songs (even if they think they don't know the show) and exciting tap dance choreography will have everyone tapping along.

Rehearsals have been underway since the beginning of January and with a fast-paced and light-hearted script by Ludwig, and a collection of the most beloved tunes of George and Ira Gershwin, including the day-dreamy “Can’t Be Bothered Now”, the catchy, high-energy “Slap That Bass”, and the plaintive, romantic “Someone To Watch Over Me”, Crazy For You
is a truly delightful homage to the beloved, optimistic musicals of the 1930s: a world of showgirls and cowboys, in which a city boy and a country girl reconcile their differences, fall in love, and save a theatre, the old-fashioned way.

Tickets are selling out fast so secure yours now before this show is fully sold out. Tickets can be purchased online from the solstice arts centre website or pop in and purchase your tickets from the box office. Show runs from Wednesday 10th April to Sunday 14th of April.
