New parish priest for Kilskyre-Ballinlough as clerical changes announced
Navan curate becomes PP of Castletown-Geoghegan and Tyrrellspass
This weekend sees the announcement of clerical changes for the Diocese of Meath, effective from 10th July next.
While most of the changes apply to the Westmeath end of the diocese, there will be a new parish priest in Ballinlough-Kilskyre as Fr Paddy Kearney has retired. He is being succeeded by Fr Declan Smith, currently parish priest of Taghmon, Co Westmeath, who previously served in Cortown and Trim.
Fr Seamus Mulvaney, parish priest of Tubberclair (Glasson) is to retire, and Fr Phil Gaffney, Administrator, Mullingar is taking on to be Administrator of Taghmon, in addition.
Former Kiltale curate, Fr Barry Condron, current parish priest of Castletown-Geoghegan and Tyrrellspass, is to to be parish priest of Tubberclair. He is being succeeded in Castletown-Geoghegan and Tyrrellspass by Fr Robert McCabe, currently curate in St Mary's Parish, Navan, and formerly CC, Stamullen and chaplain to the Defence Forces in Gormanston.
Fr Norman Allred, curate, Mullingar to be curate, Taghmon; Fr Marcin Pietras, Polish Chaplaincy to be curate Mullingar, in addition; Fr Andre Stolnicu, curate, Mullingar to return to Diocese of Iasi, Romania on completion of term.
