E-scooter rider loses life after collision in Navan

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision on the Kentstown Road, Navan in the early hours of this morning Sunday, 26th July.

The collision involved a car and an e-scooter and occurred at approximately 1:45am.

The driver of the e-scooter, an unidentified male was pronounced deceased at the scene. His body has been removed to the Mortuary in Our Lady's Hospital, Navan.

The driver of the car, a male in his 60's and a male passenger, aged in his 20s were both uninjured.

The road is currently closed for examination by Forensic Collision Investigators. Local diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.

Any road users who were travelling in this area between 1:00am and 1:45am this morning and who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.

Separately, Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a single vehicle fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the L4101 at Lanespark, Ballynonty, Thurles, Co. Tipperary in the early hours of this morning Sunday 26th July, 2026.

The collision involved a car and occurred at approximately 3:45am.

The driver of the car, a male adult teenager was pronounced deceased at the scene. His body was been removed to Waterford University Hospital where a post mortem will take place in due course.
