Time to Believe... Bohermeen drama group's unique twist on the Nativity

It's the Greatest Story Ever Told and it'll be told in a very distinctive style in Bohermeen Community Centre next Saturday (6th December, 8pm).

Local ensemble, the Bohermeen Amateur Dramatics Association, (BadAss) are staging 'Believe' - their own unique interpretation of the Nativity, where the search for the new-born King takes some very unexpected turns courtesy of daft shepherds, not-so-wise men, some very tired new parents and an Angel with some serious attitude!

Billed as a special Christmas night out for the Community to get together, there will also be couple of additional stage pieces as well as a performance from the Navan Community Singers singing some classic festive favourites. There will also be a raffle on the night.

This will be the group's third outing since they were established in 2023. Earlier this year their production of 'It's Complicated - an eclectic mix of comedy sketches and a one act play packed out the local community centre for two nights running.

Buoyed by the reaction they received that night the ensemble are currently busy rehearsing 'Believe' and are praying a full house once again will leave no room at the inn, or in this case, community centre.

Artistic Director Andrea Molloy says the cast, along with some new faces are thrilled to be back together and running lines for what they hope will be a lovely fun Christmas night.

"BadAss is buzzing with excitement as we put the final touches on our Christmas Evening!

"With just one week to go, we’d love for you, your family, and your neighbours to join us on Saturday, 6th December—doors open at 7pm.

"Come along for a cosy night of festive refreshments, friendly chats, and plenty of entertainment, including performances and a cheerful sing-along to lift everyone into the Christmas spirit.

Let’s gather, celebrate, and feel the magic of Christmas together!"

Andrea says the group's first show 'A Not Half-Bad Evening of Laughs' a series of sketches and one act play in 2023 was a "real baptism of fire for all of us but we got a tremendous reaction from everyone who came and it was something new to the community too".

"This Christmas show is a real bit of fun, for the cast, but also we hope, for the community too. Then into the new year and we'll see what that brings but we'll be looking to get working on more great material."

Tickets are on sale at €10 each and available from Leahy's Mace Newgate, Nearby Stores in Allenstown and McHughs pub in Greetiagh and through the drama group's facebook page and cast members and it promises to be a wonderful evening.
