Plans submitted for 150-acre solar farm in Ashbourne
Plans for a 150-acre solar farm on lands at Knavinstown and Coolfore, Ashbourne, have been submitted to Meath County Council.
Solar Farmers Ltd is seeking a 10-year planning permission for the development of a ground-mounted solar PV energy installation on a site of approximately 62.96 hectares. The development will include solar panels mounted on fixed-tilt frames with associated pile-driven support structures, inverters, transformers, a client substation, internal access tracks, underground cabling, perimeter deer fencing, CCTV security poles, welfare facilities and a temporary construction compound.
Site access is proposed via an existing upgraded and widened entrance onto the R155. A Natura Impact Statement (NIS) has been submitted with the application.
Separately, plans for a retail warehouse park with five units at the Cavan Road, Townspark, Kells, have been submitted to Meath County Council.
The Woods family c/o Billy woods is seeking permission for a retail warehouse park comprising of five retail warehouse unites with office space, toilets, canteen, circulation areas, and goods storage. The development will also include the construction of a new pedestrian and vehicular entrance on Cavan Road (R147).
