Ben Gilroy (Direct Democracy Ireland)

Ben Gilroy is a member of Direct Democracy Ireland and a candidate for Meath East.
He lives in Navan and is well-known for his stance on banking corruption which, he says, has destroyed this country. “We need to take back control of our country from the hands of corrupt banking cartels who destroyed our country, destroyed our health service, destroyed our welfare and destroyed our standard of living. With unemployment at a record high, families destroyed by emigration, 100,000 families facing eviction, suicide gone through the roof, businesses struggling or in receivership, children going to school hungry and a homeless crisis spiralling out of control, this country is at an all-time low,” he adds.
He says that, as a TD, he could have a much greater influence and adds that he will maintain a constant dialogue with constituents in the spirit of Direct Democracy, pushing their interests above all else.
He is also a very strong advocate for the right to life of the unborn and believes Ireland needs the right of referendum returned to the people where it belongs to enact real change.
