Allireland camogie title for meath

Meath won the All-Ireland Minor B Camogie Championship overcoming the Derry challenge by 4-6 to 2-10 in Inniskeen on Saturday.

Derry looked bound for glory when Eimear McGuigan’s high ball found its way to the Meath net in the first-half.

Aoife Shaw added three points and that helped Derry to lead by 2-6 to 2-2 at half-time.

This was a pulsating encounter that had everything and which could have gone either way, but it was a Niamh McLoughlin goal in the 56th minute that swung the tie Meath’s way.

The Royal girls produced a brilliant second-half comeback,trailing by four points at the break Meath went further in arrears as Derry tagged on two early second-half points to lead by six.

Aoife Minogue started to exert her influence after the break and Meath got back into contention.

The comeback was complete when Ratoath’s Niamh McLoughlin found the net near the end to clinch the title and send the Meath supporters wild in the stand.
