Navan man could be king of the blues

Navan singer, songwriter and musician Paddy Smith is currently featuring in a documentary-in-the-making in Meath by Shay Casserly (see video clip) which will be eagerly-awaited by his fans.

Paddy is well-regarded, and rightly so - he spent 10 years in America where he played in some of the USA's famous blues clubs including the House of Blues in Chicago.

He started playing blues harp 25 years ago and is a fantastic blues harmonica player and his influences include Little Walter and Paul Butterfield among others.

Paddy has a style all his own and he recently released an album - 'Let Those Blues In' which features 12 original tracks.

The man from the Royal County has been described by several DJs in Ireland and Europe as a 'modern, soulful refreshing take on the blues genre.'

Paddy also performs live with his band 'Smithy's Blues Band - a four piece.
