Ballinlough back in the big time

Ballinlough maintained their winning ways to claim the IFC when they defeated Ballinabracky 1-12 to 1-9  in the final at Pairc Tailteann this afternoon.

Building in a bright start Tom Shine's side put Ballinabrackey in the shade for most of this encounter.

They led 0-7 to 0-5 at the interval with Mark McCullen finding the net for them in the opening seconds of the second-half.

Peadar Byrne capped a powerful display for Ballinlough with eight points four from play.

Ballinabrackey trailed by six at one stage in the second-half yet they reduced it to just one with 51 minutes on the clock.

However, Ballinlough finished stronger to take the crown they last won in 1991.
