Tony McCoy wins on Mountain Tunes this week.

McCoy feat to be honoured with donation to Jockeys Fund

In recognition of the tremendous success of AP McCoy in reaching 4,000 winners Boylesports are donating €4,000 to the Jockeys Emergency Fund. This will be presented to AP at Navan Racecourse today (Sunday) where he has two rides for Trainer Eddie Harty in the Boylesports.com Quick Bet ‘For Auction’ Novice Hurdle and the Boylesports Download Our App Lismullen Hurdle.

McCoy rode his 4,000th winner when he partnered JP McManus's Mountain Tunes to win at Towchester for Jonjo O'Neill on Thursday.

Alan Reilly, Head of Racing Boylesports, said: “Everyone at Boylesports would like to take the opportunity to congratulate AP and his family on an outstanding achievement in reaching the milestone of 4,000 winners. In recognition of this we would like to donate one euro for every one of these winners to the Jockeys Emergency Fund. We were privileged to be a co-sponsor at the recent Limerick Charity raceday in support of JT McNamara and Jonjo Bright and are proud to be associated with the wonderful fundraising efforts that continue to be made by those within in the racing industry.”

Darren Lawlor, General Manager, Navan Racecourse, said: “The day’s racing has small but select fields and the seasonal reappearance of Flemenstar will be an added draw. There is no doubt, however, that the star of the show will be the one and only Mr AP McCoy. Not only have Boylesports sponsored all the feature races on the card they have now made a generous donation to the Jockeys Emergency Fund which I am sure will be greatly appreciated.”
