Tara focus on Singapore today

Horseracing enthusiasts around the Skryne and Dunshaughlin areas will be turning their attention towards the east today as Tara Stud owner Derek Iceton's Balmont Mast bids for success at Kranji (12.50).

Trained up the road from Tara Stud by Eddie Lynam, Balmont Mast won his maiden at Navan in 2011 and will now bid for Krisflyer International Sprint over six furlongs, a group one event.

Apart from that win at Navan, Balmont also won three times at Dundalk since and will be partnered today by Bohermeen man Johnny Murtagh who was on board for a second place finish at Meydan in a group one in March.

The trainer wanted a low draw and in stall two got what he wanted.

Balmont was placed four times at Meydan this year from January to March  and was only a neck off the winner Reynaldothewizard in his final race there in March.
