Charlie bird moves to fullforward for christy ring cup

Meath senior hurling manager Martin Ennis (pictured) has made a number of changes to his starting 15 for tomorrow's eagerly-awaited Christy Ring Cup first round tie against Wicklow at Trim, 4pm.

Regular goalkeeper Charlie Bird moves to full-forward with Kiltale's Shane McGann taking over between the posts for his first competitive start this year.

It us understood that Meath played a number of challenge games over the past few weeks - which included a game against London - but no information has been provided.

Footballer Mickey Burke also returns to the side at midfield where he will partner Padraig Keogh.

Meath defeated Wicklow this year in the Kehoe Cup final - but Wicklow finished that game with 14 men after Andy O'Brien was dismissed in the first-half.

Meath lost the NHL Div 2B final to Kildare in April.
