Clancy's men win thriller in Athlone

Tim Clancy's Drogheda Utd delivered a sensational victory against hosts Athlone Town last night in a League of Ireland First Division thriller.

Trailing 0-2 and 1-3 the Drogheda lads stormed back to win 5-3 at the end of an exciting 90 minutes with Athlone playing the last 30 minutes with 10 men.

Kealan Dillon and Shane Dunne both featured at midfield for Athlone while Luke McNally added to the Meath theme on the pitch in the heart of the Drogheda defence.

Stephen Meaney's hat-trick and two from Mark Doyle gave Drogheda the points that puts them in third 
place.

The results wasn't so good in the Premier for Dundalk as they lost 0-1 against St Pat's at Richmond
Park.

Derry City's Meath man Greg Sloggett helped his side to a 3-2 win against Finn Harps.
