Streets of Athboy road race focus

The crowds came out to watch the Fr Murphy AC-promoted Streets of Athboy 5k road race and fun run this evening with close to 350 timed finishers.

Dunleer athlete Darragh Greene took the honours in the men's race in 15:14 with Clonliffe Harriers duo Richard Owens and Sean Doran in second and third. Richard Bell from Fr Murphy AC was the best local in fourth.

Dunshaughlin's Shauna Moran was the top Meath female in the senior category in third place behind Una Britton (Kilcoole) and Laura McDonnell (Tallaght).

Trim AC took the men's team award with Ronan Moore, Tom Feeley, Kieran Corcoran and Jonathan Nangle doing the business and they also won the women's team award - Helen Hartnett, Petrina Edwards, Denise Molloy and Anka HJannukka.
