Cian Smyth in ac tion for Meath tonight

Meath advance to Gerry Reilly Cup final

Meath qualified for the final of the Leinster u-16 Gerry Reilly FT tonight with a merited 4-17 to 0-15 victory over Cill Dara.

The game was hosted by promoting club OLdcastle GAA club at Millbrook and was played in a wet conditions as rain lashed the venue until about the final 10 minutes when the sun broke through the clouds.

Both teams produced some excellent football with Summerhill's Eoghan Frayne topping the scoring charts with a return of 1-10.

Ratoath's Cian Smyth was selected as the player-of-the-match.

Meath dictated throughout, but were pushed hard by Cill Dara who were denied two second-half goals by Adam Niven between 
the posts.

The Simonstown player was excellent with his reactions as he tippped goalbound shots away;
