€500,000 Dunshaughlin EuroMillions ticket still unclaimed

Almost three quarters of a million euro has been won by EuroMillons lottery ticket holders in Meath over a week.

Batterstown, Ratoath and Dunshaughlin have seen winning tickets drawn between Friday 22nd and Friday 29th November, with a €500,000 winner sold in Tara News, Dunshaughlin, at the weekend remaining unclaimed.
Friday night’s winning Quick Pick ticket was bought that day at the Tara News store, owned by Healy’s SuperValu in Dunshaughlin, and locals are being encouraged to check their tickets to see if they have the lucky ticket with the half million euro prize.
The winning EuroMillions Plus numbers were 14, 25, 26, 31, 37. The prize remained unclaimed Tuesday lunchtime.
Owner Paul Healy is giving €1,000 out of his seller’s prize to the local branch of St Vincent de Paul, which collects in the SuperValu store every Christmas.
In July 2017, a €415,000 winning lottery ticket was sold in Tara News.
On Thursday, a group of colleagues from Ratoath travelled to National Lottery HQ in Dublin to claim a €203,097 EuroMillions prize which they won in Tuesday night’s draw, 26th November.
The close-knit colleagues who wish to keep their win private have described the absolute ecstasy of winning the prize which will make their Christmas all the more special with their new found fortune.
One of the lucky syndicate said: “They only way we could describe our win as a group is that this is a syndicate full of people who are truly and utterly deserving of this bit of luck. One of the girls popped into the local shop at lunchtime yesterday and she came back as white as a ghost uttering that she thought we had won something on the EuroMillions draw on the previous night.
“We had a nervy couple of hours in work but once we found out how much we had won, it was just pure elation between us all, it was incredible to share that with everybody,” they said.
This syndicate was one Lucky Star (numbered between 1-12) short of scooping the entire €25,884,845 jackpot with the Quick Pick ticket that they bought at the Spar store on Fairyhouse Road in Ratoath.
“We’ve only been playing together for a year and we’ve each been paying €2 each a week into the kitty so it’s a nice return so far,” they laughed. “It might not be the €25 million jackpot prize but it’ll seem like that for a lot of us, especially with Christmas just around the corner. The plan for everybody is to pay off all of our bills, thoroughly enjoy Christmas and after that we’ll look at some car upgrades or holidays in the New Year,” they added.
On Friday 22nd November, a EuroMillions player in Batterstown was €41,248 better off after matching five numbers sold in The Village Pump, Batterstown. A Meath ticket holder claimed the prize.
