Malachy Lynch at Dunsany Post Office in January.

Sudden death of former Dunsany postmaster, Malachy Lynch

The death occurred suddenly over the weekend of Malachy Lynch, who had just retired as post master at Dunsany.

Mr Lynch took ill on Saturday night, having been earlier playing golf with the Dunsany GAA Club Golf Society.

He had retired from the post office at the end of January, when the community held a farewell function for him.

He is a past chairman of Dunsany GFC, and when involved with the Marlyn Freight company in the 1990s, was a sponsor of the Meath hurling team.

Deepest sympathy is extended to his wife, Doreen (Dempsey); daughter, Catherine, son, David, grandchildren, Alannah, Jack, Zara, Alex and Harry, sister Marie McDermott, extended family, relatives and friends.
