About Us

The Meath Chronicle is the oldest and still the most read newspaper in Co. Meath. Started in Kells in 1897, the newspaper is now published from its offices in the heart of Navan and printed in its own press outside Navan.

The newspaper is read by over 65,000 people every week and its website (www.meathchronicle.ie) accessed by thousands of readers every week from across the world.

The Meath Chronicle is owned by Celtic Media Group, the largest regional newspaper group in the midlands and northeast, selling over 55,000 weekly copies each week and distributing a further 40,000 free newspapers.

Celtic Media Group (CMG) is an independent Irish company whose Chief Executive, Deirdre Romanes, was born and raised just outside Navan. It bought its first Irish regional newspaper in 2002 and has since acquired Westmeath Examiner Group and The Anglo Celt newspaper.

CMG prints all of its titles in its own state-of-the-art printing plant outside Navan and employs over 200 people in Ireland.
