Lynch's late leveller denies Moylagh

GIRLS DIV 5

Kilskyre NS...............................6-5

Moylagh NS............................6-5

Laoise Lynch's point 30 seconds into injury-time earned a draw for Kilskyre NS from their thrilling Girls Div 5 final clash with neighbours Moylagh NS at Trim on Thursday.

Early on Kilskyre looked set to avenge their earlier loss to Moylagh in the group stages and make amends for last year's final loss, but inspired by the brilliant Amy Grall, who scored 6-2, Moylagh took control and were in pole position when lead 6-4 to 5-2 with six minutes remaining.

However Kilskyre never gave up with Emma Lydon driving them ever onwards and when Erin McGuinness netted with 40 seconds of the 40 minutes remaining they had real hope of rescuing a draw which they did when Lynch pointed wityh the last kick.

There were goals galore in the opening half with the sides sharing 10 in the opening 20 minutes and in the early stages it looked like Kilskyre were going to run riot with Emma Lyon netting either side of a goal from Katie Reilly and a poin from Eve Usher.

However, Moylagh stayed in touch with Amy Grall opening her goalscoring in the second minute and adding a point to make it 1-1 to 3-1.

After a great save by Kirsten Black Goldbey Moylagh closed the deficit further with a point from Orlaith Flood and then the goal rush started.

Grall closed the gap to two points for Moylagh and after Katie Reilly restored Kilskyre's cushion two more goals from Amy Grall put Moylagh in front 4-2 to 4-1.

Katie Reilly completed her hat-trick of goals, but it was Amy Grall who ensured a 5-2 to 5-1 interval lead for Moylagh with her fifth goal.

The tensions and intensity rose in the second-half and while the goal rush eased it was still a thriller as points from Michayla Cullen and Amy Grall sandwich Amy Grall's sixth goal to stretch Moylagh's lead to 6-4 to 5-2.

However, Kilskyre never gave up. Moylagh managed just one further point frm Molly Geraghty before Maoise Lynch and Emma Lydon pointed to keep their side in the game and then the late flourish rescued the draw.
