Man (60s) killed in Ashbourne road collision

A man aged in his 60s has died following a collision involving a truck and a car in Ashbourne today.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following the fatal road traffic collision which occurred on the N2, north of the Ashbourne-Rath Roundabout, Ashbourne, this afternoon, Monday 12th October 2026.

The collision, involving a truck and a car, occurred shortly after 3pm.

The driver of the car, a man aged in his 60s, was pronounced deceased at the scene. His body has since been removed to the mortuary at Navan.

The driver of the truck, a man aged in his 40s, was uninjured.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision, particularly anyone who was in the area between 03:00pm and 03:45pm, to come forward.

Gardaí are also appealing to any road users who may have dash-cam footage, including motorists travelling on the N2 in the vicinity at the time of the collision, to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
