All-Ireland glory for Meath pool sides

Three Meath teams recently travelled to the Gleneagle Hotel, Killarney for the finals of the All-Ireland Pool championships. The Meath teams who operate and practise in J-Mac’s pool club in Navan were firstly represented in the finals by an u-23 team, an over 60’s team and a Junior B team.

The u-23’s, consisting of Alan Jordon, Cathal Martin and Aaron Smith sealed victory beat Kerry 5-3 in the final. There was further success for the over 60’s team of Ao Farrelly, Paul Dunne, Martin Keenan and Martin “the rocker” Rothwell who got the better of Tyrone in the final on a scoreline of 5-0.

Aaron Smith, David Dunne, Daryl Clare, Brian O'Carroll, Brian Brady, Dan Mulligan, Tony Gilkenson, Alan Jordan, Mark Gavigan, Darren Ennis were all part of the Junior B side who were beaten by Cavan 14-7.
