Dramatic sum of money raised for Tabor House

Carnaross Drama Group recently raised a whopping €17,045, for Tabor House, the addiction treatment centre in Navan.

The Drama Group raised the funds through their recent very successful 21st anniversary production of “Women on the verge of HRT”.

The initiative was spearheaded by Bernie O'Brien, board member of Tabor House, and chair of Carnaross Drama Group.

The laughter from the Carnaross Community Hall when the show was staged on the weekend 20th, 21st, 22nd & 23rd of November, could be heard reverberating around the county.

On the occasion of the Groups 21st anniversary, the entire community of volunteers, from director, Rose O’Neill, cast: Anna, played by Tanya Farrelly, Vera played by Eileen Lynch and Fergal played by Martin Devine, Gabrielle Harte who provided the live music, Paul O'Neill on sound and lighting, as well as set design and stage crew, front of house, marketing, box office and car park attendants gave their time for free to support Tabor House.

The entire proceeds from the show, including the entrance fee, the raffle, the refreshments raised a whopping €17,045.00 which was accepted by Pat Mullaney, chairperson and director of Tabor House at a presentation on Thursday 4th December. Speaking on behalf of Tabor House, Pat thanked all present and congratulated the group on the occasion of its 21st anniversary.

"Tabor House would like to acknowledge with heartfelt gratitude the enormous contribution made by the wonderful Carnaross Drama Group and the patrons of this fantastic community," he said.

He told the group that Tabor House is also celebrating it’s 21st anniversary and will be carrying out necessary refurbishments in the house over the Christmas period.

Pat also shared with the group that Tabor House have started a new Day Treatment Programme, funded by the HSE, for both women and men, which is an exciting addition to the service at Tabor.

He also confirmed that the Board have approved the commencement of refurbishment of the existing dwelling house on the Slane Road with a view to commencing the secondary treatment centre “Misneach” for women in the third quarter of 2026. The money raised by Carnaross is a significant contribution and most welcome.
