'Dunboyne's Diana' CMAT announced for Electric Picnic 2026
The first nine acts playing Electric Picnic 2026 have been announced and Dunboyne's very own pop star CMAT is amongst them.
The first round of acts were announced for the festival this morning with Dublin rock band Fontaines DC headlining the Sunday of the three day festival and Gorillaz headlining the Saturday.
CMAT, who hails from the small town of Dunboyne, was amongst the star studded line up with more acts to be announced in the coming weeks.
CMAT's most recent and third studio album 'Euro-Country' was released in August of this year and was well received by fans.
The album was also nominated for the prestigious 2025 Mercury Prize.
On the day of the album release, the singer returned to her home town of Dunboyne to unveil a stunning mural of the album cover in the middle of the town, stopping to chat with fans and pose for pictures along the way.
CMAT, which is an acronym for the singer's full name, Ciara Mary-Alice Thompson, told the Meath Chronicle: "Seeing the mural today was insane. It's definitely not a normal feeling, seeing your face painted on a wall in your home town. It's the craziest day of my life.''
