Dunshaughlin Royal Gaels stars to swap pitch for red carpet!

Who will pick up awards at movie night?

Dunshaughlin Royal Gaels Football Club is bringing glitz, glamour and the Hollywood red carpet to Knightsbrook Hotel, Trim, on Saturday 15th November.

Recent success on the field is being matched by equally ambitious efforts off it. What began as a bold idea has turned into one of the most exciting community events in years. Catering for over 1,200 members, including 700 children, Dunshaughlin Royal Gaels is one of the fastest growing clubs in Meath.

The goal is to raise €150,000 to help fund the acquisition of land for additonal playing pitches. These additional playing pitches are an essential requirement to cater for the incredible growth in playing numbers and to ensure that, as Dunshaughlin village continues to grow into a bustling town, Dunshaughlin Royal Gaels is ready to welcome and support new members for generations to come.

Eight film casts have been hard at work over the summer rehearsing their lines and filming was completed over the last two weekends of October. From heartfelt drama to laugh-out-loud comedy, local stars are taking on some of cinema’s most iconic roles. Expect to see familiar faces from around town swap their football boots for the silver screen and step into scenes from The Green Mile, Father Ted, Calendar Girls, Bad Sisters, Bridesmaids, The Field, The General and Forrest Gump

So far over €75,000 has been raised for and has been generously supported by local businesses, including main sponsor – Credit Union Plus, and film and award sponsors: Caffreys, BetXS, Wokpok, Village Vets, GEM, Farmhouse Foods, Reach for the Stars, Cico Sports, Fresh Today, Utmost PanEurope, City North Hotel, Going Solar, and Local Power.

Will current club and county stars Niamh Gallogly, Niamh McEntee, Ruairí Kinsella or Mathew Costello add a best actor award to the mantlepiece? There is only one way to find, grab your ticket, dress to impress and get to Knightsbrook on Saturday 15th November at 7.30pm.
