Road Safety Awareness Day held at Emerald Park

An interactive Road Safety Awareness Day was held at Emerald Park in Meath supported by the Road Safety Authority (RSA) and organised by Meath County Council and An Garda Síochána earlier this month.

Every element of the event was designed to be engaging and interactive to best educate the public on keeping themselves and others safe on our roads.

The day was filled with interactive experiences to teach the park goers about road safety.

The Road Safety Awareness Day featured the RSA Roll-Over car, the Interactive RSA Shuttle Bus, and VR Road Safety Goggles and was attended by Gardaí from the Mounted, Roads Policing and Community Policing Units, and personnel from the Meath County Council Fire and Rescue Service.

The Garda Band were also in attendance to play some tunes for attendees of the Road Safety stand.

"The engagement we had with people of all ages was fantastic and shows the very real appetite people in Meath and all over the country have to change road-user behaviours and mindsets."

Superintendent Yvonne Murphy of An Garda Síochána said

The event was held by Meath County Council and An Garda Siochana.

"This was a great collaboration of all of those involved working together to keep people safe."

Paul Flynn, Operations Manager at Emerald Park said "We were proud to host and support Meath County Council and An Garda Síochána for this Road Safety Awareness Day and we were delighted to see the event receive such a terrific reaction from Emerald Park visitors."

"Our modes of travel might all be different, but we are all road-users, so learning more about road safety will always be a universal lesson."
