The Trim Municipal District Pride of Place awards for 2024 were hosted at the Trim Castle Hotel on Wednesday, November 13.
The Cathaoirleach of Trim Municipal District, Cllr Aisling Dempsey, extended a warm welcome to the guests representing the 27 participating groups involved in the initiative. She highlighted the immeasurable value of the volunteers' contributions, acknowledging their dedication and emphasising that the Trim district serves as a testament to their efforts, which evoke a profound sense of pride.
Mr Des Foley, Director of Services for Trim Municipal District, expressed gratitude to all volunteers on behalf of Meath County Council for their contributions to the Trim District. He underscored that the initiative exemplifies a genuine partnership between the community and Meath County Council aimed at fostering community engagement and development. Mr. Foley also noted that this competition provides the council with an opportunity to witness first hand the remarkable work undertaken in local communities, which may otherwise remain underappreciated. He concluded by extending his thanks to all Councillors who actively support community groups throughout the year.
