Kellett claims third successive UK title

Kells man Alastair Kellett wrote himself into the record books as he clinched his third Airtec Fiesta ST240 championship in a row at Oulton Park in the United Kingdom on 17th October.

After a thrilling 17 race season the championship boiled down to a head to head between Kellett and fellow Irishman Graeme Colfer.

With the Meath man holding a 26 point lead going into the final two races, he needed a top four finish in the first race to secure the title and duly did just enough to clinch the title with a fourth place finish in race one.

This marks a fourth UK title for the Kells garage owner adding to his successes in 2016, 2024 and 2025 and cements himself in the record books as one of the most successful drivers in the history of the championship.

Kellett is incredibly grateful for the support this season from SmartPart motor factors who have stores in both Navan and Trim.

“It was great to have John O’Sullivan on board this year for our championship campaign and his support played a huge role in getting me on the grid this season. SmartPart have been a fantastic partner for us this year and the relationship has grown from strength to strength on and off the track too from a business perspective as well. Hopefully we can continue this partnership into 2027.”

Speaking about his plans for 2027, the Kells man confirmed his intentions to once again defend his title and go for an unprecedented fourth title in a row.

“To win three in a row has been incredible but the competition is getting stronger each year and I was pushed all the way to the title this year by the rest of the grid.

"We have more drivers travelling over with us from Ireland to take on the best that the UK can offer and the grid for 2027 looks even more competitive so it’ll be a tough task to retain my title but I’m looking forward to the challenge and can’t wait for the 2027 season to kick off next April.”
