Meath Sightless Cinema film to be premiered at Solstice
'Red Boots' is a musical story of Daisy, whose life takes a turn
Sightless Cinema Meath returns to Solstice Arts Centre in Navan with ‘Lost and Found’, its new programme of immersive surround-sound audio shorts in collaboration with Sightless Cinema Network, mixing comedy, drama and music. Optional blindfolds are provided to help bring you into the world of Sightless Cinema.
Meath Sightless Cinema presents 'Red Boots', a musical story of Daisy, whose life has taken a downward turn, when out of the blue she bumps into an old school-sweetheart in the park. Created by the performers, with Amy Flood and Navan musician Alan Carmody, it’s an exciting first for Meath Sightless Cinema.
The programme also features ‘Split Time’, where a blind runner’s fall fractures more than his ankle, forcing him and his guide to confront some hard truths about their friendship, and ‘Cuckoo’s Lane’ a housing crisis comedy, about adult children moving home, a misplaced modular house and a John Deere tractor.
As usual the evening features some surprise new live audio dramas performed by members of the Sightless Cinema Network- a firm favourite with audience.
Now in its 12th year, Sightless Cinema is a collaborative arts project led by director Ciarán Taylor for people with sight loss to devise and produce audio theatre with professional theatre artists and sound designers; and has recently expanded to Belfast with support from Creative Ireland’s Creative Communities Shared Island programme, in preparation for a cross-border production in 2028.
