Gardaí appeal for witnesses following fatal Enfield collision

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a two vehicle fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the M4 road westbound at Junction 9 (Enfield), Co. Meath this Tuesday afternoon 15th September 2026 at approximately 2:30 pm.

One of the drivers, a male in his 30s, was pronounced deceased at the scene. His body has since been removed to the local mortuary where a post-mortem examination will take place in due course. The coroner has been notified.

A female in her 30s was conveyed to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The road is closed pending examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Local diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to come forward.

Any road users who were travelling on the M4 near Junction 9 (Enfield) between 2 pm and 3 pm today and who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) are asked to make it available to investigating Gardaí.
