Cole appointed as Meath senior hurling manager
Mickey Cole will be taking over as Meath senior hurling manager for the 2027 campaign.
Mickey Cole was today announced as the new Meath senior hurling manager by Meath GAA. Cole's appointment is subject to ratification by the Co. Committe at the meeting in Devenish Park on next Wednesday. Cole will be appointed on a three year term.
Cole is a popular and renowned figure in Meath hurling circles. As a player, he won three Meath SHC titles with Rathmolyon in 1993, 1996 and 2006.
His crowning moment to date as a manager was guiding the Ratoath hurlers to a first SHC title in 61 years back in 2024. Cole was in charge of Kildalkey in this year's Meath SHC.
The Rathmolyon native replaces Westmeath native Johnny Greville who stepped down as Meath manager in early August after two years in charge of the Royals.
