All to play for with two rounds remaining in Camogie Championships

The third round of the camogie championships took place last week and the semi-final pairings are beginning to fall into place, writes Anna Gardiner.

However, with most teams still having two group games left to play, nothing is set in stone.

At Senior A, four-in-a-row champions Na Fianna continue their unbeaten run after a two-point victory over Killyon. Elsewhere, Kilmessan had a convincing win over a struggling Kiltale team and Blackhall Gaels fell eight points short to Ratoath.

Round four will see the meeting of Killyon and Kilmessan, while Na Fianna will take on Ratoath at home, with Blackhall Gaels set to face Kiltale.

Na Fianna currently sit comfortably at the top of the leaderboard,

Ratoath and Kilmessan both have two wins and Blackhall Gaels and Killyon are on a victory each.

With the top four progressing to semi-finals, the next two games are crucial for all teams.

In the Senior B, Trim have emerged as the in-form team. Both themselves and near neighbours Boardsmill had registered two opening round wins prior to their meeting last week, but it was the team in red who came away with the victory on Monday night on a scoreline of 1-17 to 3-6. Runners up in 2025, Navan O’Mahonys are another team that are well in the mix. Since the opening round defeat to Trim, they have picked up two home wins against Kildalkey and Dunboyne. They will play Boardsmill in round four in what is a battle for second-place standing and, more than likely, a semi-final dress rehearsal.

The remaining semi-final spot is on the line when St Peter’s Dunboyne meet Kildalkey. Both have beaten Clann na nGael and will be fighting for a place in the top four.

It is Dunderry who are out in front in the Intermediate championship as they are undefeated after three rounds. They beat Donaghmore/Ashbourne in their most recent game and would be favoured to be on the right side of the result when they play Na Fianna 2nds next week.

It will be Donaghmore/Ashbourne, Na Fianna and Navan O’Mahonys that will compete for the remaining two semi-final places. Donagh/Ashbourne play O’Mahonys in round four and both teams will be desperate to get their first win of the 2026 championship.

The Junior A competition is wide open, with no team on three wins after round three. To illustrate the unpredictability of this grade; Ratoath 2nds beat Drumree 2nds by 21 points in round one, lost to Na Fianna 3rds in round two and then last week, Drumree beat Na Fianna by two!

The other round three action saw Kilmessan 2nds beat Dunderry 2nds and Ratoath 2nds beat Trim 2nds.

It’s all to play for in round four when Na Fianna face Kilmessan, Dunderry play Ratoath, and Drumree come up against Trim.

Being structured differently (split into two groups) Junior B is the only camogie championship to have reached the knockout stages. Navan O’Mahonys 3rds topped Group 1 and will play Donaghmore/Ashbourne 2nds in the first of the semi-finals. Boardsmill's 2nds will take on Wolfe Tones.
