Mundy announces landmark performance at National Concert Hall

Birr singer-songwriter Mundy will mark the 30th anniversary of his first album release 'Jelly Legs' with a performance in the National Concert Hall (NCH) Dublin on Saturday, December 5.

Released in October 1996 to critical acclaim, 'Jelly Legs' sold 50,000 copies, but it was his debut single 'To You I Bestow' that attracted most attention after it was licensed to appear on the soundtrack to Baz Luhrmann’s adaptation of Shakespeare’s Romeo+ Juliet, introducing Mundy to the world.

Mundy has since gone on to release a further eight albums creating his own flavour of acoustic, folk-based pop/rock through his own record label ‘Camcor Records’ which he set up in 2000.

Mundy released '24 Star Hotel' in 2002, and featuring the hit song 'July', the album went three times platinum. His album 'Raining Down Arrows' in 2004 went straight in to the Irish Charts at number 1.

He has enjoyed gold and multi-platinum record sales and has picked up a number of awards including the Meteor Music award for ‘Best Male’ and ‘Most Downloaded Song’ two years running for his rendition of ‘Galway Girl’ featuring Irish traditional musician Sharon Shannon.

As part of the NCH Landmarks series, this performance offers a celebration of Mundy's enduring songbook.
