Man accused of dangerous driving resulting in death of Navan teen appears in court

A 26-year-old man, Aaron O’Connell of Beaufort Place, Navan, appeared today Tuesday, 21st July in Trim District Court charged with dangerous driving which resulted in the death of a 16-year-old Navan girl in February last.

He faces three counts including dangerous driving causing the death of Mia Lily Keogh O'Keeffe on 21st February at Blackcastle Demesne, Slane Road, Navan.

The other charges are he failed to remain at the scene and failed to offer assistance.

O’Connell was remanded on bail until 22nd September at Trim District Court to go forward on a signed plea.

The accused was previously given bail conditions on 18th June, which included surrendering his passport and not applying for new documents, signing on twice a week at Navan Garda Station, residing at his home address, providing Gardai with a mobile number and being contactable at all times, and to have no contact with the injured party’s family or witnesses in the case.
