Gardaí at scene of ongoing incident in Duleek following reported assault

Gardaí are at the scene of an ongoing incident in Duleek following reports of a serious assault on a woman in the village.

A public alert issued by Duleek & District Text Alert earlier today stated that a woman had been seriously assaulted on Main Street and that the alleged assailant had left the scene and described him as a white male with brown hair, wearing grey cargo trousers and a white T-shirt. The group urged anyone who spotted a person matching that description to contact Gardaí immediately.

An Garda Síochána has confirmed officers are currently responding to an incident in the area but said no further details are being released at this stage.

In a statement, a Garda spokesperson said:

"Gardaí are currently at the scene of an ongoing incident in Duleek, Co Meath.

"For operational reasons, An Garda Síochána will not be commenting further."

The nature and circumstances of the incident have not yet been officially confirmed by Gardaí.
