Man refused bail on charges in connection with garda ramming incident in Monaghan
A man, charged in connection with the alleged ramming of a garda car in Monaghan two days ago, has been remanded in custody.
The 24 year old appeared at a special court in Trim earlier this afternoon.
Vincentias Miksta with an address at Riverview, Ballinode, Co Monaghan, was charged with assault causing harm, obstructing a Garda in the course of his/her duty, possession of cocaine and possession of the drug for sale or supply, as well as attempting to escape from lawful custody at Tully corner, Ballybay, Co Monaghan at 11:45am last Thursday.
Detective Garda Evelyn Daire gave evidence of arresting and charging the accused who appeared in custody at Trim District Court.
Defending solicitor Dimitry Grinberg said that his client had €1,000 available for bail and would abide by any conditions set by the court.
However, Judge Raymond Finnegan refused bail and remanded accused in custody to Monaghan District Court next Monday.
