Bulfin goes strong for Kehoe Cup decider

With the start of NHL Div 2B just over a week away Meath manager Seoirse Bulfin has named a strong team for tomorrow's (Saturday) Kehoe Cup clash with Kildare at Dunganny, 1pm.

Meath will be favourites to secure promotion from NHL Div 2B when they open their campaign against Wicklow in Pairc Tailteann next week, but before that they have an opportunity to claim the Kehoe Cup.

If Meath are to win the Kehoe Cup they will need a massive 17-point victory over Kildare to overtake both the Lilywhites and Carlow to the top of the table.

As it stands Meath are on four points following wins over Wicklow and Down and have a +7 scoring difference. Kildare are on six points with a +29 scoring difference, while Carlow are also on six points with a scoring difference of +23.

A 17-point win for Meath would move them above Carlow with a +24 scoring difference and by virtue of a 17-point loss Kildare's difference would drop to +12 and leave them in third place.

While a 17-point win for Meath is unlikely Bulfin will be hoping for a morale-boosting win ahead of what he hopes with be a successful league campaign.
