Gardaí investigate damage to Adrian Donohoe memorial

Det Gda Donohoe was stationed in Dundalk when he was shot dead at Lordship credit union on 25 January 2013.

Damage has been caused to a memorial erected in memory of the murdered Detective Garda Adrian Donohoe.

Gardaí in Kilnaleck are now investigating the incident, which is said to have occurred over the “last number of days”.

Det Gda Donohoe was memorialised with a plaque in his home village, one of several erected to the former Dundalk-based Garda.

The memorial in Kilnaleck is located at The Green, and the damage was caused to seating a planting in the area directly around it.

In 2020, 31-year-old Aaron Brady of New Road, Crossmaglen, Co Armagh, was convicted of his murder.
