Newgrange spotlight for Canada audience

Tourism Ireland in Canada is teaming up with The Weather Network, in an exciting new collaboration to promote Newgrange and Ireland.

The Weather Network is a hugely popular TV channel in Canada. The partnership with Tourism Ireland involves four new short videos, which will air on The Weather Network next month and will be seen by around 10 million people across Canada.

It will also include an episode of the channel’s podcast, This Day in Weather History, which will be released on 21 December and will focus on the winter solstice at Newgrange.

Host Chris Mei and producer Nora Jartan have been filming in Co Meath – as guests of Tourism Ireland and Fáilte Ireland – capturing lots of great content at Newgrange.

The videos and podcast will also be promoted extensively on The Weather Network’s digital and social media platforms.

Sandra Moffatt, Tourism Ireland’s Manager Canada, said: “We are delighted to partner with The Weather Network, to showcase Newgrange and Ireland to a huge audience across Canada. Each video will be seen on TV by around 10 million people; and The Weather Network’s podcast will be another great platform to promote Ireland and, in particular, our remarkable winter solstice at Newgrange.

“Our aim is to showcase our rich culture and heritage, as well as spectacular landscapes, to potential Canadian holidaymakers for Ireland.

“Our message is that we cannot wait to roll out the green carpet and welcome back Canadian visitors in 2022.”
