The man killed in a road traffic collision in Carnaross on Monday was a Lithuanian national who had been living in Virginia.

The 31-year-old man was the driver of a Skoda Fabia which collided with a livestock truck that was parked on the roadside near Carnaross Mart shortly before 9.30pm on Monday, 18th October.

The road was closed for a time as Garda Forensic Collision Investigators conducted a technical examination of the scene.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to come forward. They are particularly appealing to any road users who were travelling between Kells and Virginia between 9pm and 10pm that night, and who may have dash cam footage, to make it available.
