Dunderry prove far too strong for the Gaels

Dunderry achieved up a commanding victory over Blackhall Gales in this HL Div 2 encounter.

The winners made the brightes of starts with Daire O'Driscoll netting the first of his two opening half goals.

This was followed by a brace of points from Liam Coogan and a free from Conor Leavy to leave it 1 - 3 to 0-0 before Blackhall Gaels got off the mark with a point from play.

Mark Leavy popped over two points from play either side of a Blackhall free. Two Conor Leavy frees were answered with two from play from Blackhall.

A fine passage of play from which Jordan Martin picked out Liam Coogan who looked up to see O Driscoll free and he duly dispatched to the net.

From the puck out Blackhall replied with a goal of their own before Duffy struck over in response. Three more points from Leavy ( two frees) and 1 - 2 from placed balls from Blackhall left it 2 -11 for the black and whites to 2 - 7 at the interval.

The second-half started with a Leavy pointed free which was cancelled out from play before Liam Coogan banged in a pair of goals to leave his side leading by 10.

He was picked out with pin point passes for both- the first from Mark Leavy and the second from Cian Coogan. The teams traded frees again before Conor Leavy pointed superbly from out on the sideline after collecting yet another great ball out of defence from Coogan.

Jordan Martin made his presence felt with a surging run down the middle splitting the posts with conviction.

Liam Coogan finished his evening off with a third point from play followed up by the two more frees from the deadly accurate Leavy.

It finished 4-19 to 2 -15 for a good win on the road for Dunderry.

Best for the winners were Cian and Liam Coogan, Mark Leavy and Conor Leavy as well as O'Driscoll.
