Kilmessan player answers Meath's call on two fronts

Megan Thynne resolved a difficult personal dilemma when she played for Meath today - in both football and camogie.

Thynne played the first-half as Meath took on Cavan in the Ladies National Football League Div 2 A semi-final at Breffni Park. Meath won 0-13 to 0-9.

She was then driven by her father Andy to Inniskeen where Meath played Antrim in the National Camogie League Div 2 semi-final but this time she and her colleagues endured defeat as the Ulster side won 0-12 to 1-8.

Megan came on as a second-half substitute for Meath in the camogie game.

Thynne is a regular on both the football and camogie county teams.

It was an arrangement that worked well so far this year with the camogie side usually out on a Saturday and the footballers playing on a Sunday.

However, that all changed this weekend with both camogie and football games fixed for today.

She wanted to help both sides and she managed to do that.

"It was only yesterday evening I decided I'd play a bit of both and I'm glad I made that decision, to be honest I didn't want to let anyone down," she said after the camogie match.
