Glory day in the Pairc for primary school kids

There was double celebration for Dunshaughlin schools in Pairc Tailteann this afternoon as St Seachnall's claimed the Meath Primary Schools Boys Div 1 title, while their neighbours in Gaelscoil na Rithe won the Girls Div 2/3 Shield crown.
Day of the Meath Primary Schools finals featured four finals with the Boys and Girls Div 1 Shields up for grabs along with the Boys and Girls Div2/3 Shields.
The opening game of the day was a saw nine goals, six of them going to Duleek as Megan O'Connor top scored with an amazing 5-7 to help Duleek GNS see off St Paul's from Ratoath by 6-8 to 3-4 to claim the Girls Div 1 Shield.

There was heartbreak for Duleek NS in the Boys Div 1 Shield as they threw away a big lead with Louis Keane firing 2-2 to inspire a stunning comeback victory for St Seachnall's by 5-5 to 3-8.

The second big win of the day for Dunshaughlin came in the Girls Div 2/3 Shield decider as Gaelscoil na Rithe withstood a strong second-half display from Kildalkey to claim the crown with a 4-6 to 3-3 win.

The final game of the day was mostly played in lashing rain and fading light, but huge credit must go to both St Columbanus NS and Robinstown for serving up a thriller in the Boys Div 2/3 Shield final which the Ballivor boys won 4-7 to 3-4.
