Insomnia is coming to Dublin

Only a few more sleeps to go for Meath's gamers before Insomnia arrives

Seasoned gamers and families alike are expected descend on the RDS on 9th and 10th November for the Insomnia Games Festival - the biggest and longest running games festival in UK - that's now coming to Ireland.

The weekend promises plenty of entertainment on show including the latest video games, Youtuber meet and greets, competitive esports, Cosplay, Indie Dev Zones, main stage demos and panel discussions.

Attendees at Insomnia Dublin will be able to experience the brand new Vive Cosmos, the latest premium PC-based virtual reality (VR) system from HTC.

The Republic of Players will be hosting the Insomnia Live Studio featuring interviews with special guests and live gaming action throughout the show.

The Esports roster will be jam packed and includes Overwatch, FIFA 20, Rocket League, Super Smash Bros. and the eagerly awaited Fortnite Challenge featuring a prize pool of over €1,000 worth of cash prizes and gaming goodies.

Fans of Konami’s Yu-Gi-Oh! will be able to play the popular game on the Konami Gaming Wall as well as the card game on the Konami stand.

Other exciting content at the show includes:

The very latest in virtual reality gaming featuring the brand new Vive Cosmos from HTC. Players can also experience roaming VR as they walk around in a virtual game using a wireless headset

John Romero will be in attendance and will be discussing game development and design. The Indie Dev Zone will showcase new games by Irish developers.

Jigsaw is the official charity of Insomnia Dublin and will be at the festival promoting awareness of the work they do in supporting young people’s mental health in Ireland. A number of joint initiatives will take place over the course of the festival, including a live stage panel discussion regarding gaming and mental health.

Guild of Nerds will be hosting the Insomnia Dublin Cosplay Competition giving all cosplayers a chance to showcase their creativity on the Live Stage. The Cosplay Zone will give cosplayers a chance to learn more skills and connect with other cosplayers
