Trim Celtic in celebration mode

Spectacular O'Keeffe double wraps up title for Celts

After conceding the opening goal Trim Celtic hit back to defeat Parkvilla 3-1 and clinch the NEFL Premier crown at Tully Park today with Jack O'Keeffe netting two goals.

Alan Murphy's side have marched through their campaign undefeated to clinch a title they were in line to win from well out.

They dominated today before a large contingent of their supporters yet they fell behind in the opening half when they Parkvilla's Jamie Blake was brought down in the penalty area. The same player got up, dusted himself off and fired to the net from the spot to give his side a 1-0 interval advantage.

It was in the second-half that Trim Celtic really found another gear producing some fantastic first-touch football to equalise after 61 minutes when Cillien Corcoran fired to the net from close range. Then former Dundalk u-19 player O'Keeffe stepped into the limelight firing home a spectacular goal from a free into the top corner on 68 minutes.

The same player did it again shortly afterwards despatching the ball to the net from about 30 metres out right into the same top corner.

It was no more than Trim Celtic deserved as they had created a host of chances of Brian Faulkner sending the ball against the bar from a header.

The final whistle was the signal for sustained celebrations.
