Third man arrested in connection with Virginia ATM robbery

Gardaí investigating an attempted ATM robbery in Virginia this morning (Wednesday) have arrested a third man in connection with this investigation in Virginia.
He is currently detained in Bailieboro Garda Station under the provisions of Section 50 – Criminal Justice Act 2007.
In a follow up operation in the north Meath area, a substantial amount of cash was recovered, the quantity to be confirmed later..
The two men arrested earlier are being detained at Carrickmacross and Kells Garda Stations.
Further searches are continuing this afternoon.
In the early hours of this morning, uniform and plain clothes Gardaí attached to Cavan/ Monaghan Garda Divisions supported by Garda National Units intervened in an attempted ATM robbery in Virginia.
Cllr Paul McCabe of described the incident as "a very concerning development."
"There seem to be some light at the end of the tunnel as regards getting to the bottom of these ongoing attacks on ATMs in the last 12 months," he said.
