We're Hiring! The Meath Chronicle is looking for a Reporter

Meath Chronicle is seeking a tenacious, self-starting journalist to join its editorial team as a reporter, working across its print and digital platforms, to cover maternity leave which will be for a 12-month period.

Founded in 1897, Meath Chronicle is one of Ireland's leading regional newspapers and is a trusted brand across the community it serves. Printing every Tuesday, we also have one of the country's biggest online audiences and are the main source of news, sport, entertainment and insight in County Meath.

The successful candidate will ideally have at least three years experience in news and feature writing, with a track record in providing quality copy to deadline. 

The role will include:
Sourcing, researching and writing news stories, features, blogs and analytical articles for our print and online platforms
Contribute ideas for news and features;
Managing regular deadlines according to requirements;
Utilise our social media  to broadcast news and updates to our readership;
Be competent to use mobile/video technology to tell stories.

You’ll be joining our editorial team in our Navan office in Market Square in January 2019 and be expected to "hit the ground running". You’ll be setting the news agenda for our platforms with your colleagues. The nature of the position will require traveling to jobs throughout the County so own transport is essential.
